What is Car detailing?

Detailing is so much more than a trip through the car wash. A Montana Detail is careful and personalized attention to your vehicle to improve and maintain its health/longevity. We’ve invested in the best products, proper tools, and hard-earned experience to beautifully restore your car inside & out. No surface, nook, or cranny is ignored... because your car is worth it.

 

Do I have to be home for you to detail my car?

Nope! By coordinating access to a water spigot, electrical outlet, garage, and keys to your car ahead of time, we'll be all set. It's not uncommon for us to arrange appointments with property managers, even allowing you to book a Montana Detail while you're out of state.

Do you offer car detailing October - May? (aka our long winter)

We sure do! There are couple different options during the winter. First, we have a dedicated garage in Big Sky that allows us to detail interior AND exterior at any time of year. We pick up and drop off your vehicle - super convenient. Second, we regularly perform interior-only details in client's garages. Both are great options!

Do you offer details on the weekend?

Yes, we're happy to come to you on the weekend and fit your schedule. All details are by appointment only and must be booked at least one day in advance, so please scroll down to select the service you're looking for and  select from any of our available times listed.

Can you detail both of my cars in the same day?

Absolutely - This is preferred for us and we knock $50 off the final invoice for double-day detail projects.

What type of car washing products do you use?

Only the best. We primarily use a collection of favorite products from Meguiars, 3D, and Malco. We take environmental friendliness into our selection consideration, making sure we don't use products that may have an adverse effect on the environment. Then there's our industrial steamer, carpet cleaner, vacuum, dual action polishing buffer, power washer, and leaf blower (drying) to give your vehicle the very best treatment.

My interior has stains. Can you get them all out?

Most food/drink based stains don't stand a chance against our steamer, cleaner, scrubber, and vacuum combo... but some of the problem stains that may not be eliminated completely are red food dye (like in red beverages), paint or glue. We'll account for any foreseen carpet challenges in our time/cost estimate.

I have a furry friend. Are you able to remove pet hair?

Yes, most of it! It seems like everyone has a dog around here, so we're well versed. That said, it's challenging to remove 100% of pet hair without damaging the carpet fabric, causing it to frizz or show excessive wear from brushing and vacuuming. So, we keep the vehicle's interest in mind and trust that 90%+ is a big win for our clients.

My car has swirl marks and small scratches, can you remove them?

Yes, we have the tools and expertise for the job. Swirl marks are common and make a car's exterior look dull/fatigued. As part of the Summit Detail, you can include this service to bring your car's sheetmetal back to it's intended glory! Note, depending on the intensity and coverage of swirls/scratches, this can be a time intensive process that requires multiple steps for safe execution. Our time/cost estimate will take this into account.

Am I expected to tip on top of the detail cost?

No, but of course a tip is always appreciated if you're feeling particularly thankful/generous. No matter what, we commit to putting our very best effort into every vehicle we have the privilege to detail.

I have a place at the YC, or I live outside of Big Sky/Bozeman, what is the transportation fee?

Details in the YC incur a $75 flat transportation fee. For jobs outside of Bozeman/Big Sky, there is a $50 fee for every 30 minutes of driving required beyond city limits. 

​

What about trailers, campers, and RVs?

While we are not specialty experts in trailer, campers, and RVs, we'd be more than happy to give your vehicles/accessories a beautiful refresh inside and out. We charge a $100/hr rate for these services and are equipped to apply all our car detailing skills/tools to your specialty vehicles.
